My Inspiration

by MisterScabbedWings   Aug 17, 2005

Alan, a friend in my memory always
Taught me to appreciate sun rays
Taught me the beauty of life
Doctors took His right leg with knife

A cancer came from nowhere
A burden His body could not bare
His will to live has grown
So much He has me shown

Riding his bike every day
Just listen to what He has to say
Continues going to school
In my eyes He is more than cool

Just like Him I wish I could be
A strong will to live and feel free
My help He always has had
I'd cry if He would ever feel bad

So much from Him others learned
The schools respect He has earned
Always in my heart wherever I go
May those burn who to Him say no

To help Him my biggest pleasure
Told me that Life's a big treasure
Something one should not waste
Learn to appreciate a simple taste

To live and feel is a privilege
This January He's starting College
May God walk with Him forever
Forget Him I will never

To my friend Alan whom I admire most. When you'll get the Cheetah (prosthetic you can run with) we gotta play Ping Pong till we faint of exhaustion and go back to playing Paintball. Take Care. God bless You.

Its really sweet and nice that you dedicated this poem to your friend Alan...I'm sure he's your inspiration...and not only your but ours too! (even tho we don't know him) He's a strong person and with you at his side...he'll always feel strong. Nice poem!
