Showed me how to live

by MisterScabbedWings   Aug 17, 2005

My life, a routine for years
Until I met my best friends
Showed me how to drink beers
Fun with no ends

Crazy years we have lived
Learning from one another
Their Friendships, the greatest gift
Like the band of brothers

Personal problems we'd discuss
In sports competing like hell
Lots of good times on the bus
So much each other to tell

Different guys with different stories
Friendships that last forever
Something I'd still remember in my fourties
Faced ups and downs together

We always had each other's backs
In tons of fights
Listening to our favourite tracks
Staying up lots of nights

Hanging out at clubs down the street
Dancing without a care
Looking out for girls to meet
Shared our money, very fair

So many times we've hung out
At a house or in the mall
Need anything, just shout!
Always had someone to call

Now, different country and home
Friends in University
Who is there to phone?
Hate leaving Mexico City

For the Greengates generation 2005. The best years of my life. Good luck at University and we better meet up some time in the future.

Really nice poem...graduation really sucks because you have to leave your friends, but life goes on and so does our life. Take care and be good, I love your poem :-) really touching.
