To Age (Retrac)

by Steven Beesley   Aug 19, 2005

Grow Old
Once were bold
By the wayside
Health begins to subside
Gone are the days of mis-spent youth
I have no more hair, I have but one tooth
Such a sad story but all is the truth
Drowning my sorrows with vermouth
Those I have known have died
Now cast aside
Story told
Grow old

~Aging will happen to all of us, but the final stages are often accompanied with loneliness and depression. The process is so sad. This ia a poem of what can happen to many of us.~
