Drowning

by Jacklyn   Aug 19, 2005

Your make-up of lies,
Your mask of despise,
Your true beauty you hide.

As you crawl for acceptance,
Wishing, worshiping to be like them,
Admiring and dreaming to be their friend,

Leaving your true friends in your past,
I guess you didn’t notice what you really had,
Because now you drool within an ocean,

You grovel like the others,
Who too wish to be accepted,
Who think it’ll make their life so much easier,

Hiding what makes you different,
Hiding what makes you so unique,
Becoming a clone, a media beauty victim,

You raise your white flag to your originality,
As your individuality dies behind your make-up,
As your personality drowns into the sunset.

~it just bugs me so much watching people give up themself to try and be someone they're not. i see it on this site, at school, even at church.

Another very good poem from you, I really agree with you on this issue Its horrible seeing people trying to be something they are not, leaving people behind, if only everyone was happy to be who they are, but really not many are...

    well done
