Soldier’s Wife

by williamcampbell   Aug 20, 2005

I’m sitting looking,
At the door.
Knowing you’ve,
Went off to war.
Longing goes deep,
Into my core.
Fear deep inside,
Begins to roar.
For if required,
Your blood you’ll pour.
Just like heroes,
Of old folk lore.
My pride for you,
Like eagles soar.
Deep down inside,
My heart is tore.
For your courage,
Please do explore.
I’ll love you for,
Forevermore.
For your safety,
God I’ll implore,
I’m praying for you,
More and More.
