I Am A Soldier

by williamcampbell   Aug 20, 2005

Amidst all these, who despise me,
I will stand and fight for freedom.
Glares and stares is all I receive,
Though I may die to defend them.

Friends and family don’t understand,
The reason that I’m over here,
I’m a fighter, I’m a soldier,
I’m going and showing no fear.

The day is here, the battles come,
Today my life may be required,
If my life I need to lay down,
Give me grace let my life expire.

Two thousand years have come and gone,
Since another great soldier died,
All the freedom of the world,
On this soldiers shoulder was lied.

This soldier said, they despise me,
Though I stand and fight for freedom.
Glares and stares is all I receive,
Though I will die just to save them.

All those around don’t understand,
The reason that I’m sent down here,
I’m a soldier, I’m the savior.
Bearing the cross, showing no fear.

The time is come, my time is here,
Today my life will be required.
My life I know, I will lay down.
Give me grace as my life expires.

Today’s the day on which all rests,
The day that the savior will die.
And all the freedom of the world,
On my saviors shoulders was lied.

This was by all means incrediable. i've read some of your other works, and i must say you got a lot of talent. i trully want to thank you for fighting for our country. it must take a great deal of courage, and love of this country to do what you do. Thank you. keep up the great work, and may god keep you and our troops safe from harm. you'll be in my prayers.
