Epiphany

by Mikie Taylor   Aug 21, 2005

Walking through the sand and grime,
Wishing to turn the hands of time,
Walking and trudging, destination is nothing,
On a mission in creating something,
The wind whistles and voices tear,
Whispers of despair fill the air,
Why do we care, what is the reason,
Watch the angels tear and add to the season,
Rain trickles down, the familiar drizzling sound,
Washes away, the night and begins a new day,
Legs are tired and stomach is queasy,
Realize the mission through time is not so easy,
These scars remind that the past is real,
Stop to kneel, in the sand for a moment,
Try to grasp the past, grab and hold it,
The weight being carried heavy as a boulder,
Why was the fire inside washed out and smoldered,
Have to keep pushing and pulling, striving and moving,
Its worth it do this instead of just losing,
Thoughts blast by in the mind like lightning
Through the eyes it can be seen what's frightening
And fighting, deep in the distance a light
Can be seen, down on one knee, in the night and reach,
Pain is suddenly deceased, it has been seen, this epiphany.
