An Eternity of Lament

by Weeping Wolf   Aug 21, 2005

The burning phoenix flies high into the crimson skies
Its wings on fire it sadly dies
as all the damaged souls wail in pain with the most sorrowful cries

The skins we live in gauntly reach to the clouds
now fading away as though the wind carries us
So much for being saved by love and sympathy\'s lust

Look what happens when the past is what we forget
Of all the promises we have never kept
I stared up dreadfully as my shadow wept
thinking of all the happiness it has never met

The grass dry, i try not to cry
as i open my eyes
for the true first time
i see death\'s wedding bells chime so high
Not a home in sight, only black tattered sheets
flying like ragged wings into the abyss of ebony snow and sleet
Too deeply hurt, draped in dread
Knowing everything you have always loved is now dead.

Before the phoenix perishes in this beautiful somewhere,
it sings all the memories out of the weeping land with its eternity of lament...

Watch speechlessly
as all life dies
under these crimson skies
The pale moon gleams
in the reflection of tears
As our dying phoenix appears
Returning for one last cry
For it is too proud to say goodbye
Its song too beautiful for you
Falling into the tragedy he flew

It\'s lament filled with reason and regret
Our ears will never forget
Blind sight to death we do not dare
My heart too shattered to care,
Phoenix of Lament sings its everlasting sorrow to you

Flying...falling into
one last elegy of you
one last memory of you
Pain from darkly cut scars
Joy unknown from crying to the stars

So sadly faithful to care
Too much agony to share
The most broken soul i shall forever be
Only in death can me and this phoenix be eternally free
