Blame

by Bruce Gould   Aug 22, 2005

We met at very different times in our lives.
You still had your innocence,
I lost mine years before.
As a person, I couldn’t compare to you.

You were shy,
I was a party animal.
I wanted there to be change,
But not the way it happened.

You rubbed off on me,
But I rubbed off on you too.
No, that isn’t what I wanted,
I never wanted you to come to my world.

Now that it’s over, the change is evident.
You raised me up,
And I pushed you down.
I am to blame for the change that I never wanted.
