A Little White Lie

by mookoo   Aug 23, 2005

As I leave will you say goodbye,
will you even pretend to cry,
wiping fake teardrops from your eye,
decent enough for a little white lie,

I’ve got my foot out of the door,
I just couldn’t take it any more,
what did I really need you for?
you held me back like a charging boar,

I needed to spread my wings,
gather up my things,
see what the new world brings,
and hear the new song it sings.
