The note

He was only ten years old
when she found his note one day
he had been gone only six months
and this is what he had to say

Dear mommy,
I can't take it any longer
the pain is just to much
why do you hate me mommy
why is it me you never touch
is it because I'm ugly
or do you think I'm bad
just to get one hug from you
I would have been surely glad
I tried to be a good boy
and keep my room real clean
but for forgetting the littlest things
you would always be so mean
I tried to do the laundry once
and I remember you got so mad
but in my own head I thought
my mom will surely be so glad
ever since daddy left
it seems we fell apart
but I've always loved you mommy
right from the very start
but today I can't take the pain
my life is just no fun
today will be my last day
because today I found your gun
it was hidden on the top shelf
hidden way up high
but today I decided mommy
your love I no longer try
I've written you this note mommy
right before I place it at my head
I know you'll find it someday
between the mattresses of my bed
I'll soon be up in heaven
way up in the sky above
and in heaven with the angels
I know I'll finally find love
