You don't see

The days grow ever longer as I lie alone my dear
The trees grow along with the flowers
Clouds form and are lost among the sky my love
The peoples faces line with the ongoing hours

Hurt lingers on in hearts of those who have lost
People die and illnesses worsen but you dont see them go
The rain falls over my roof each night you are away
My heart aches for you as the sycamores grow

You left, seems like forever ago when we were together
You went away over rivers and mountains
Through rain and wind and sunny days
Past sculptures and bloodied memorial fountains

My heart beats so weakly, not strong as it used to
My eyes fill with tears at a memory I cannot find
Hiding away within shadows and treachery
Closing myself within the depths of my mind

The trees shed their leaves and the clouds flow in
People shelter from rain but you dont see this dear
For you are far away in a mournful place
But I see the deaths because I, am right here
