Remember When

Do you remember the things long past
when everything was new?
the past when all your role-models were
Belle, snow white, or pooh?

remember the only books you read
were by the Dr. Seuss?
and how you had ignorance to things
like rape or child abuse?

remember when "shut up" was bad
like "heck" and "nasty" too?
remember how naive you were
when everything was true

Remember things that frightened you
like monsters under your bed?
remember when you wouldn't kiss lips
but butterfly kisses instead?

remember when your pal Barney was cool
unlike now when he's a dork
or when you just loved to believe
that babies came from a stork

Remember when all kids had cooties
everyone but you
remember when you didn't worry
about dates and curfew?

Do you remember these days, i say
you'd be smart if you think I'm right
when i say you need to treasure those times
those times past and out of sight
