The Girl In The Mirror

She turns to the mirror,
Not sure of what she sees.
A twisted face of another lost soul,
Maybe just waiting to be freed.

Looking at the girl in the mirror,
Looking into her eyes.
Pain and loneliness fills her soul,
Her mouth is gaped, but she hears no cry.

She’s just another face among the busy crowd,
Just wanting to be heard and waiting to be seen,
But no one would hear her,
No matter how loud she would scream.

She gets lost in her thoughts,
And hates being here in this place,
Just for a day she would,
Disappear without a trace.

Her heart, that’s been broken,
So many painful times before.
The same old feelings always remain,
She can’t hide or try to ignore.

Everyone blames her.
She knows they do.
Everyone blames her.
She knows it’s true.

Even if it’s not her fault and,
No matter how much she could stress.
She still holds her pain deep within,
Strong and tight in her chest.

The emotions she feels,
She cannot deny.
She holds her tears tight,
Behind those hollow eyes.

Her eyes always sting,
With unshed tears.
But no one knows the pain she feels,
Even after all these years.

When is she going to learn?
Why, cause she’s tired of hating.
When is she going to leave?
Why, cause she’s tired of waiting.

As stares out the window,
The lump grows in her throat,
She’s losing all faith,
And giving up on all hope.

When you think you’ve got a hold on something,
You blink and then it’s gone.
All you can do is try to be brave,
Just try to hold on.

She turns back to the mirror,
That girl, who could she be?
That girl in the mirror,
That girl is me.

[[This is my most recent and longest poems and i have to say i love it. It describes so much of me but also how torn and broken so many of us can feel. This poem is dedicated to informing others that you are not the only one who feels like this, and there are people out there who can relate and understand.
