Always There

From a baby till now, you were there,
By my side to protect and care,
Bad and good memories we each have made,
Molded me, my future you have paved,

Many things you taught me over years,
Helping me overcome all of my fears,
The faith and trust you have in me,
Sometimes I’m just too blind to see,

All the years coaching my baseball teams,
To me so much this all means,
Your advice I take and use each day,
Simple words, ”Thank You” is what I say,

My dad I’m proud to say you are,
My love for you it grows by far,
When I have a problem I know whom to call,
My dad for sure, he won’t let me fall,

Great things accomplished in your life,
A great family and a great wife,
Very smart and wise in ways I can’t explain,
I hope someday my knowledge will be the same,

I try hard at everything I do,
Little by little trying to be like you,
Always they’re when I need a helping hand,
Standing up for me, being a man,

Never letting life’s harms hurt me,
No matter what the cost or the fee,
Everything I say I mean from my heart,
The rest of my life, you helped me start,

Like I said, you are always there when I need you,
The father son bond we share is so true,
When things get in the way, we move them fast,
Me and you on top, never finishing last
