Roses

by amber   Aug 26, 2005

Roses are red, thorns do
harm, rip, and ruin.
So do you, my dear.

How I love roses.
How I want to love you.
Why don't you be more like the rose.

It has a rare and wonderous beauty. Why don't you stop being the thorns so I can love you more.

Right now the love I feel for you
causes me pain, the way you act.
I beg you don't be a thorn, but a rose.

If you are like a rose
I will love and care for you like a rose, and believe me much more than that.

It's nice really. Good word choice but maybe add some more dtails in to make it seem like we can feel what you must have been feeling :)

It got a bit lost in the middle but the overall effect was good. I love the way you compared your lover to a rose...its so true...there is beauty but they sure can prick! Nice Poem.
