I'm searching for an answer
And a reason for the pain.
That there's something better waiting
And this is not the end.
I want someone who can fill the emptiness
And make me smile in the midst of a storm.
To not be afraid to love me
And offer, not his coat, but his arms to keep me warm.
To take me to the movies
And be the only one I want to kiss.
To be the first thing I see every morning
And the one I spend eternity with.
I know I'm not the only one who desires this.
There are many still lost in the dark.
I guess that's what we spend our whole lives doing;
Looking for the other half of our heart.
Without hope for healing
And rebuilding our heart's home,
We'd all fall apart,
For we aren't meant to live alone.
This world is an awful place
And seems to be getting worse.
Love is the only light
In this hell on Earth.
It doesn't matter your age,
Race, creed, or crime.
Inside we all want the same thing.
Something few ever find.
But I still wonder if its promise
Lives up to its worth.
I hope we all soon find
Our own Heaven on Earth.
