A tattoo scripted in my arm,
Wording so strong, never weak.
An acid of colour, scarlet red,
Over dose could kill instantly.
Swipe of the brush,
Revealing the piece, a heart.
Tampered and played,
Dropped and destroyed.
Bandaids stripped of my skin,
Everything bore to the bone.
A simple cut in two,
Half mine, shared yours.
Walking away from
Being part of you.
Never did I ask to
Get pricked, scared for life.
Stop pretending, please I know,
This heart will certainly not be whole.
