The Proposal

by BjAlways   Aug 27, 2005

The day has finally come,
There you are standing before me.
You said you'd do it in front of them,
I hope they're happy for me.
I wish that they could see it,
Only I know they never will.
They are the hole in my heart,
That I can say you filled.

Even though we may be apart,
The love was never killed.
I miss my parents dearly,
It will never be the same.
But inside I know its merely
Just a part of liefs game.

You are on one knee now,
My eyes are swelled with tears.
The only thing I'm thinking now is
God its been so many years.
I know thieve passed a while ago,
It seems just like yesterday.
I heard Grandma say Ma Go,
You see she had a stroke one day.
Thats all that she could say.
Grandpa was on his death bed,
He threw many years away.
Once he passed I knew that
Gram wouldn't even last.

You finally take my hand,
Which made me catch your eye.
I glanced at the engagement band,
Which made me start to cry.
You looked at me and turned away,
Nervous chills ran up my back,
You stumbled out the words to say
The words you wished not to lack.
You finally got the courage to say,
Will you be mine,
Forever and a day?
