Ignoring all that’s around me,
I want to escape, be free.
Trapped in this roam,
A shot in the dark, slitting my skin.
Wound to the arm, wrist all above,
Scars deeper then when they seem to heal.
Sensitive to the touch,
And ongoing assignment to clear all awake.
Under the radar, cross check at the border,
Alarmed with the images of blood stained fear.
Protest to clean me up,
I want to stop, please don’t give in.
Links of the chain, now broken,
Once cared, now hated.
Photos and memories, happy times we shared,
All in the past now, never will we travel there again.
Surrendering, hands up, I give in
I tried my top, all dead indoors.
