Nothing to hold onto

They tell me to hold on
As my life slips away
Now everything is gone
Why should I bother to stay

My life is a wreck
Everything is a mess
You might as well put your hands around my neck
Tighten your fingers and start to press

I’ve been though and survived this long
But now it isn’t so
Easy to be strong
And my sorrow I shall never again show

How am I supposed to hold on
When I have nothing to hold onto?
How have I survived so long?
You do realize it’s my life you are destroying don’t you?
