Trust

by Matthew Guitor   Aug 27, 2005

I trusted you,
Like you told me to,
And you threw it in my face.
Now I find my self in a Paradoxical place,
Far from the simple time I knew,
Not knowing what is true.
The pain is seeping into my soul,
Filling every happy hole,
My futures coming oh so fast,
I know this pain will forever last.
The anxiety of loss is setting in,
Knowing I can never win,
I see the light and run toward it,
When I get close it flashes bright,
I am blind,
My way I cannot find,
The obvious exit wasn’t the way,
For my mistake I will pay,
Lost here in this forever night,
Filled with sorrow from my plight,
I scream into the Darkness of the unknown,
And the only thing that’s shown,
Is your face,
At last I know my place.
No matter how much pain was caused,
My love was never paused,
I love you now just like before,
Actually NO… I love you more.

This was a really great poem. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the part where you wrote: "I trusted you,
    Like you told me to,
And you threw it in my face..." and the end was terrific. Nice poem:)
