What You Meant to Her

by Kerri   Aug 28, 2005

The day of your funeral,
Started out gloomy and grey,
You could tell in the air
It was going to be a sad day

They took your body from the house,
And took it to the yard,
We were fighting back the tears
We were fighting back hard

But we all gave up
And let our tears fall
Cause you know we love you,
And you love us all

When you were laying there
Ready to be laid in your final resting place
Your sister, she cried so much
Cause she knew you had finished your race

She cried on your coffin,
She cried at your feet
She wanted you there,
cause her heart suffered defeat

Your uncle comforted her,
She was crying so true
That showed everyone
How much she truly loved you

You were her brother
Her first best friend
I could see in her eyes
She couldn't believe this was the end
