Never the Same

I used to be able to tell you anything,
and I knew you would understand,
I used to run to you with my problems,
or when I needed a hand.

We've gone through rocky fazes,
but they were always better in the end,
now this blow you dump on me today,
I don't think even time can mend.

You can't see the tears in my eyes,
you can't hear the tremor in my voice,
you can't even begin to understand,
the consequences of your choice.

We had ourselves a deal,
a deal which you chose to break,
but even thinking it might be remotely true,
that was my biggest mistake.

Our friendship has changed to drastically,
I don't even know why I still thought it was real,
cause you don't understand how much your words sting,
when all I wanted was to help you heal.

Never will I look at you the same,
never will I turn to you in fear,
because of all the promises that you have broken,
this is the only one to have me in tears.

This just proves that nothings the same,
and everything I loved is dead,
so when you turn your back and walk out of my life,
ignore the things I left unsaid.
