Giggling girls echo around me
happy in their obliviousness
arrogant charm pasted onto
every painted smile
I sit with my eyes duly emotionless
earning my right to share this stage
wearing the painted smile and the faceless expressions
too grownup by far, for my age
I could sit like stone here for years
without a care for the why's or the hows
blank and broken and empty
living just as much as I am now
