It's no Mistake

by Lithium   Aug 29, 2005

At the window she sits,
Day after day,
Staring at the rain,
Waiting for her life to go her way,

She wakes up each morning,
Seeing what today beholds,
Knowing this curse,
Won’t leave until she’s old,

On the way to school,
She misses her first appointment,
Her mum is upset,
Eyes full of disappointment,

She arrives at the first bell,
Goes to her first class,
But a lady pulls her out,
English takes a pass,

She says you’re not safe,
To be left alone,
For her mother to keep watch,
Even listen on the phone,

The lady brings more people,
Into the room,
They explain what must happen,
Before she meets her doom,

The girl gets sent home,
Trying crimson tears,
Not understanding,
Why everyone fears,

The safety of her life,
The only one,
They feel she must be protected,
What’s done is done,

The crisis lien is called,
She is rushed to a place,
One with many,
Unfamiliar faces,

She tells her problems,
To some guy,
But every question he asks,
Is answered a lie,

So much for an assessment,
Her questions still remain unanswered,
To leave this world,
Is something she’d prefer,

When she gets sent home,
She’s watched more than before,
It’s so hard for her to be by herself,
The pain grows more and more,

She finally reaches her end,
No more sorrow can be taken,
Her illness is no other,
As bipolar can’t be mistaken.

Please try not to be sad, I know it's difficult. Great poem with beautiful imagery. 5/5.
