Exposed

It's short and it's sweet
and it's straight to the point
and I want to camoulflage it,
but I don't.

And I know that you'll view it
with your eyes and your mind
and you'll forget all that I wrote there
and everything I put behind

every word,every action,
every look that said it all
every heartbreaking emotion
every stumble, every fall

and you'll twist it to suit
whatever purpose you chose
I set myself up for a chance,
you set me up to lose.

and it's all that I feel
holding all that I am,
It's not everything I should say,
but it's everythying I can.

so it's blunt and it's painful
and it'll tear me apart
to hear you shred with your words
all the pieces of my heart.

but it's there, and that's it
it's the best I can do
for to make myself understand
I had to become vulnerable to you.

Like a blindfolded child
holding nothing but air
afraid of the dark
and what just might be there

On my knees in the shadows
crying softly alone
trying to keep the sobs silent
even though nobody's home

It's my last desperate attempt
to break the ice of my shroud
my voice is weak and unsure
and not very loud

but the meaning behind it
is still strong and true
and it's naked and exposed
as I leave it for you.

Damn, have you been reading my journal or something....you just said everything I couldn't put into my own words.
