My Sister

by JJ   Aug 29, 2005

Like my shadow
walking in my footsteps
copying my actions
she strives so hard to be like me

she thinks I'm the world
in her eyes I can do no wrong
but what she doesn't know...
I'm not perfect at all

My life is not what she thinks
I have problems I deal with
insecurities of my own
many things about me, she doesn't know

I wish she could see past
this false image she's painted of me
Its far from what I'll ever be
baby sister I'm no angel

*I wrote this for my sister.

    JJ...
    This was so heartfelt ....
It reminded me so much of my two sons .. One is 13 and the other is 5..
My 5 year old walks in every footstep of his older brother ....He admires him and looks up to him not only as his big brother but as his security .....

In the eyes of admiration and love there are no flaws ... Your little sis obviously loves you with all her heart as you do her ... and love conquers all .... even imperfections

This write tugged at my heart strings ....

    JJ,
A beautiful piece written for your little sister. I'm sure in her eyes you are an Angel and I'm sure you are. No one is perfect, we all have our flaws...Its truly whats in the heart that counts.

    hugs, love, Ann

This is a great write. i'm very impressed with it, your so honest about not being the perfect person. everyone needs someone to look up to and you seem like a good person to look up to. your sister will learn of your mistakes but will love you the same. it's just a beautiful poem.

Oh but you are an angel JJ...yes us humans make mistakes, as I'm sure you have done, but the angels in heaven have as well, therefore you are still an angel! I look up to my big sis Eirisa as much as your sister does you! I hope she doesn't feel that way though because she is the world, my sunshine, my angel as well! Great write!
