She couldn't see past him
she listened to him lie
and every single night
she would lay down and cry

she held a smile
she made it look good
he thought she was ok
he thought it was like it should

he thought he would lie
and she would stay the same
he thought in the end
it would be her to blame

she thought he was perfect
even though her friends knew
she thought she was in love
what else could she do?

even though he hurt her
and made her wish she was dead
everything was perfect
inside her head

finally it was time
for them to say their goodbyes
he thought he had
gotten away with his lies

of course she cried
he just ignored
this whole emotional thing
made him bored

she didn't understand
why he didn't even care
her relationship flashed in front of her
while she stood and stared

she heard all his lies
and saw him for him
finally the light
wasn't so dim

she was still in love
but her heart was broken
she turned and walked away
not a word was spoken
