Axis of Intoxication

by Drew Gold   Aug 30, 2005

I once knew what i wanted
and thought that i had to have it
drugs put a face upon it
and turned me into an addict

addiction to a lifestyle of pain that drowns me
I'm face down in the middle of foreign surroundings
wasted with the hope that the future has found me
pieces of me shatter when the echo's resounding

i once knew where i was going
but not where i had been
as long as my blood was flowing
my head would always spin

spinning on the axis of intoxication
its spreading the decay of imagination
ask; why not surrender to the isolation
there is no need to feel this obligation

u once knew where you could find me,
lost in love and lust that binds me,
i must break the box that confines me
tear at the fleshy veins intertwining

intertwined with numerous faces of my many defects
I'm beginning to understand the passion of your pretext
starting to doubt the image that my addiction reflects
I'm finally sinking in the hopes that a face always wrecks.

Lil older, tell me what u think..
