Reaching Heaven

I got a ticket out of hell,
A way to heaven I can tell,
Something that I've longed for for so long,
Something that could make me again strong,

Drowning in tears,
Something that consumes me with fears,
Is something I'm done with,
I had no more tears to give,
No more strength to lose,

I'm leaving the knife and the scars,
And making my way to the stars,
Something I never believed I would do,
I thought I was sinner through and through,

Assumptions made,
Dreams soon to fade,
Something that tears down my smile,
I have longed for for a while,
I never imagined I could have wings,

I walk away from the fire,
And flames combining to torture this born again liar,
I have changed Heaven I'll reach,
From the Devil a lesson he did teach,

Everything becomes clear,
And with the wind blows away my fear,
Something that has haunted me all this time,
The staircase to Heaven I shall climb,
And reach the pearly gates.
