Fireflies in Jars

by Lucy Loves Not   Aug 30, 2005

Fireflies in jars
A child's simplest delight
Tiny hands capture
the sparks that
ignite the sky.
flames of mother nature
are engraved within
their eyes
As children watch
the creatures glow
as they dance and
mesmerize.
summer nights
are passed on as
memories are
created-
Children chase
florescent colors,
as paths are found
before they fade.
Hands stretch
beyond the moon
In weary, sullen
desperation...
And finally,
Fireflies in Jars.
