Pass the Scars

by k i k i   Aug 31, 2005

An obsession that was engaged
Too far into extremes.
Heat from the scars
Blind and make my skin sweat.
Sweltering under the impression that
Everything, it will fade.

Addiction, now I can’t stop,
Carving all into stone.
The marks have been made,
They won’t cure with this pressure.
Slipping under the radar,
Taken for too good.

Photos insulting the memories,
Pictures that are of the past.
Recovery, so slow and taken with pace,
Broken hearts and wounds to stitch.
Black eyes, broken friendships haunt my sleep.

Gave in, and thought that it would
All pass by me.
I didn’t want myself
To go that low down.
I never thought I would
Be one of those people who shed a tear.

Stabs and under the horizon
Everything with me glitters.
Hidden under the blanket,
Now, scars unknown, forgotten.
Tears flooding the seams,
Breaking all barriers.
