Wreck (pt 3)

by Momentary Relapse   Aug 31, 2005

The ending for the pt 2 seemed so unfinished so out came pt 3. If you didn’t read the first two please do. Enjoy the latest installment~ Faith

He stands beside a gravestone
Painfully kneeling he places a flower
The red rose is the only shine of beauty
He closes his eyes remembering that hour

Sighing he chokes back his tears
Wishing to again change that day
If only he could stop what happened
But it will never go away

Clutching his cane he climbs to feet
Giving a parting word he turns
Always coming to pay his respects
Into his mind etched it burns

The silent graveyard is peaceful
Nothing to disturb this solemn scene
He aches whenever he leaves her
He doesn’t do this to be mean

Limping he makes his way home
To the darkened house he walks
He hears a sudden fierce cry
The haunting cries to his soul mocks

Hobbling into the dark room
He comes to an open door
The cries becoming too great
He stares at something on the floor

A young woman is tossing clothes
Her face reddened in anger and hate
She spins around to confront him
Now he knows it is too late

Trying in vain to soothe her mind
He realizes his efforts don’t work
Now another one is leaving him
His life has gone down the wrong fork

“It’s all your fault it happened!
You were drunk!” she screams
He doesn’t dare to protest
Knowing it haunts his dreams

It had been his fault
The morning sun died
Her laughter forever stilled
Thousands of tears he cried
