One word. Cigarettes.

by megan   Aug 31, 2005

She did it, she finally did
She put into complete shock
This habit is one she hid
Everything stopped, at the ding of the clock

“Lord, just this one time please say she’s lying”
I say as my eyes fill with tears
This is one thing I couldn't see you trying
You don’t know it, but you just hit one of my biggest fears

One word. Cigarettes.
One person I miss. My Grandpa
Cigarettes. The one thing I’m sure he regrets.
Me growing up. One thing he never saw

You don’t know how much you hurt me
When you said you smoke
This is one thing I need to plea
With me, this is one thing you don’t joke

You are my best friend
I care too much to over look this
Will this soon come to and end?
Or do you now do it for pure bliss?

One word. Cigarettes.
One person I miss. My Grandpa
Cigarettes. The one thing I’m sure he regrets.
Me growing up. One thing he never saw

I pray for you every night
For God to make you a priority to secure
But this is not my place to fight
This is one thing I can’t yet again endure

But it’s your choice
I already said what I had to
I could talk until I lose my voice
But I can’t change what you do

One word. Cigarettes.
One person I miss. My Grandpa
Cigarettes. The one thing I’m sure he regrets.
Me growing up. One thing he never saw

I wish I knew
I wish I understand
I wish I could think like you do
I wish I could lend a helping hand

I will always be here
to lend a hand and always pray
For you I will always shed a tear
Because I’ve seen the end, I’ve seen the final day

One word. Cigarettes.
One person I miss. My Grandpa
Cigarettes. The one thing I’m sure he regrets.
Me growing up. One thing he never saw

Please Lord, I pray to you tonight for a friend
I’ve seen someone die; I’ve seen the end
Please, for her, I do not wish this pain
and please for me, these tears I need to contain

One word. Cigarettes.
