Hurricane Katrina

by ~*You are my only one*~   Sep 1, 2005

I went to sleep last night,
Not knowing of what was to come,
All because of mother nature,
My life has become so numb.

I am in total state of shock,
Don't know what to do,
It didn't happen to me,
But to someone I knew.

They lost everything,
As the water flooded their home,
They thought they'd be back soon,
But their life collapsed like Rome.

I try to be strong with them,
And around them I'll try not to cry,
But all the emotions inside of me,
Are going to shoot like a rocket to the sky.

Why did this happen,
We've already been hurt,
I guess we're getting sent a message,
It is time to revert.

I'm sure they'd enjoy this poem very much, Isn't it shocking? All that devastation and knowing we can't avoid the turmoil of mother nature. Good poem
