Beauty(part 2)(dedicated to st.simons island)

by lindy   Sep 1, 2005

Sunset. The slashing of water against morning grey rocks. Rippled white dust being blown like a giant hand scooping salt. The rainbow sky against turtle green water. There is mist against the sun that looks like the heavens. It makes you feel like there is no world around you. You, the water, the sunset, the sand are all one.

People. More people than you can ever imagine, but yet now crowded. A sun beams on every inch of your body. The white sand Burns your feet until you step into the ocean's mouth. Waves hit your ankles. the tide recedes like someone is drinking the ocean through a straw. A fish jumps, then a seagull dives. Crabs run in every direction as you step on their little homes beneath the sand.

Beauty. Condos aliened like Lego's. There is nothing but you, the beach, the ocean. Soak up St. Simon's Island.

Wow...great poem the word choice is amazing u vividly described the experience i felt as though i was right there on the island i also like how u started each stanza with one word...the only thing was the end was shorter with les description, but i liked that contrast to the rest of the poem...def 5/5

  • Nature's not really my thing.. But this is good! Well done, Nice Writing
