My time with you,
My being with you
Is my greatest pleasure.
But at the same time
My loving you
Brings me such sadness,
An aching, and endless pain.

Whilst you complete me,
Make my life seem somewhat worthwhile
For those brief moments in time,
Each moment with a heart ache so deep
It has the ability to break me,
Break my tender heart.
The heart I gave to you
So honestly
So hopelessly
With every ounce of devotion
I could possibly have within me.
Only ever wanting that devotion,
Intensity of emotion
Burning depth of passion returned.

Truth is that you do, and you can
But always to an extent,
A certain and very particular extent.
To the extent now that my heartache clouds my love,
My devotion is swallowed by the rejection,
And my hope is drowned in my sorrow.
The pitiful sorrow I could be enough, or give enough to gain enough.

My dreams and desires within my grasp
I did let them lapse,
With a lack of patience and understanding.
I tried so desperately to be unselfish,
To open my eyes though blinded by love.
Perhaps somewhere along the way I lost myself
A self I was never happy with, nor proud of
Though my time with you did change that.

I learnt to learnt to love myself once I knew you did,
I was so full of happiness within my own person,
When I was able to make you happy,
Even provide you with one small smile,
It made my day, my life seem somewhat worthwhile.

While you are holding me
Sometimes I silently cry,
Because you feel so good
Sometimes it almost hurts
Living with this
With you
With this love,
Seems so impossible
But being without you

I could never comprehend.
