Not Tonight Moon

by Mallory   Sep 3, 2005

Turn down the lights and
blow out the candle
Not sure I was alone,
afraid to gamble.

He let me know,
when I opended the blinds
I was not alone,
On me he shined.

I let him in...
just to peek around
He was polite
Silent, no sound.

I let him be
I continued on to bed,
Then, ready to let him go,
g'night big moon, goodbye I said.

Closing the door,
shutting the blinds
I was ready to sleep
and I was running behind.

He shined on my window
just as I lay down to sleep
Wanting in
He pleads, "not a peep"

No not tonight,
I need this rest
not to be mean,
but your an unwelcome guest.

Once again
waving goodbye
lay down on my bed
and closing my eyes

I know he watches me,
In my sleep
thats alright...not a peep.
