You cant keep your baby

by мσяιтυяαм   Sep 3, 2005

"You're 5 months pregnant" the doctor had said
The shock was overwhelming
She needed to rest and go to bed
Leave the thought for another time

On her bed she collapsed in a heap
And within a few seconds
She was in a deep, deep sleep
The unborn foetus erased from her thoughts

After a while she opened her eyes
And turned on her side
Only to realize
She was looking down on herself

Out of her body she was floating
And right next to her was a woman
Her skin had a bright white coating
Was she an angel?

All she could do was stare at this lady
The lady smiled sweetly and said
"you cant keep your baby"
It was all too much to take in

She listened carefully as the woman explained
"your baby is part of a greater purpose"
She began to understand this knowledge she had gained
Her baby was to play an important role

Out of her body the foetus began to rise
Also bathed in a white light
And for the first time opened its eyes
So innocent and pure

The mother continued to stare
As the woman took the baby in her arms
With intense loving care
Slowly she began to ease

"Goodbye" she heard the woman kindly say
Although said gently it hit her like a hammer
She watched as the pair faded away
Then everything went black

A jolt made her whole body jump
She awakened to find herself in a hospital
She looked at her stomach and saw no bump
Had her dream been real?

She started screaming her husband's name
.....waited a while.....
Then he obediently came
His face grief stricken

Followed by a nurse "you've lost your baby"
Then they hit her- flashbacks
It all came back, the light- the lady
She smiled and said "my baby is part of a greater purpose"
