Why?

by Scaito   Sep 3, 2005

Why did I have to go so far away,
Why do I long for you this way?
Why do I even try,
as the days go by.
I love you, that's why.

Why did Katrina flood that state,
Why do the people get this fate?
Why did they not evacuate,
as the days go by,
Stay strong, don't cry.

This disaster came and went,
But all I want to do is vent.
This storm caused more sorrow,
in more ways than one.

Is this the way God wants us to be
to be together but never see?
Our love is strong, but there is one
Problem we have is all but solved
What can we do, when life is not in our hands?

As long as we love each other
nothing can break us up
But still, Why?

Hey good poem! That was most excellent. I loved the way you had the questions posed. And I loved the flow of the poem. In a way it sounds like it could be a song or something like that. Still cool job.

I wish I knew......I hope he knows what he's doing up there.

I've never loved anyone or anything; Not even the horses, as much as I love you.
