My field of dreams

by Shelby Bridges   Sep 4, 2005

I found myself laying
in a field of dreams
Enjoying the sunshine
and gifts life brings
I could close eyes
and without a stare
I could touch the clouds
as if I were there

I could reach out my hand
as it all seem so real
I could smell the flowers
and could touch how they feel
I could hear all the birds
what sounds they would bring
From one tree to another
in harmony they sing

In the mist of a silence
on this path I would stray
I could hear running water
of a brook not far away
As I turn to look back
I begin to realize
My field had disappeared
I had opened my eyes

When I hear a running brook
or when birds Begin to sing
I close my eyes and imagine
I'm in my field of dreams

I think we all have a field of
dreams somewhere...........

I like the whole general idea of this poem.

    "I could smile the flowers"

I think you meant "smell". =)

    "I could hear running water
of a brook not far away"

For some reason this part of the poem pulls the whole idea together.

I can actually imagine the sound of running water, very nice M'Dear.
