Hold, I

by ntv650   Sep 4, 2005

I could never have you believe,
That I used to put my heart on hold,
Or know I longed to touch your face,
But wore a mask to not be so bold.

Never meant for you to find out,
That I kept a soft spot inside,
Secretly hoping you'd discover it,
And ask to be held in my arms.

But I promise not to be a burden.
I won't ever have you hear me cry.
Or tell you what I dream of at night.
In fear of you saying goodbye.

Instead let my arms surround you,
And never allow you to hold I,
Because I'll show no weakness,
When protecting you from harm.
