The petals of my rose

I hide behind a wall of shame,
For what I have done has no solution,
If anyone, it’s me to blame,
For, distrusting you was my biggest mistake.

Lies and tears may hide my fears,
I hope for an apology to wonder from me,
Instead, it’s substituted with never-ending tears,
For you, your only mistake was loving me.

Words of hatred leaked from within me,
Words that spread over you like clay,
My words stung you like a queen bee,
Your words were on out of fear.

Fear tore us apart,
My shame was expressed in hurt,
And, yours in amazing art,
For people like us should not love.

And the only thing keeping us together was trust,
No matter what you’ll always be my friend,
But, hate me if you must,
Just remember that the petals of my rose will always be with you.
