Can't Believe You Grew Up Without Me There

by Felicia Tursi   Sep 5, 2005

Here's one I didn't expect,
But I'll have to accept.
That you have changed so much,
To see you know and such.
You're so much older,
Life has got colder.
Fourth grade was so easy,
How can this be?
The last four years faded away,
They went by with every day.
When I look at you it's hard to imagine,
How tiny and little you had been.
Now you're a teenager,
It's seems so major.
I's like I blinked but did I?
You just weren't close by.
I didn't watch you grow,
And it's now that I know,
I have to let go of those obscure years,
And this is my greatest fear.
Wanting to watch you grow,
And now that I have you can't let you go.
We need to grow up together.
I like us better.
Just wish you never had to leave,
My heart is being deceived.
I just know we have to be friends,
This is meant to never end.
It's just as they always say:
Let it go and if it comes back,
It's there to stay.

Dedicated to Adisen Daniels. I hope we're always friends.
