Katrina (written by: Angela Cordovez & Steven Beesley)

Jointly written by: Angela Cordovez & Steven Beesley

Parenthesis: Hurricane Katrina hit the Florida coast during the early morning (about 6:45 am) of 25th August, 2005. Angela was there and felt her might, what she didn't know was the huge impact that would be made sometime later on the other Gulf States.

This is a poem jointly written by us. It was truly a pleasure to work with Angela who is such a talented poet.

Katrina:

She is born in the Caribbean
A small disturbance in the sea
No one knows what kind of monster
She will turn out to be

She starts taking her anger out
On the Florida coastline
But she doesn't amount to anything
So she moves into the Gulf

While there, she takes her time
Playing in the warm waters
She knows she was born to destroy
So she decides to move to the next border

A raging tempest that knows no bounds
She's having one of her bad days
Her fury let out with all might
There is no holding her back

As the violent vortex swirls
Her power builds, her mind bent on destruction
With her coming, she will bring a wrath of pain
She will not give you any time, she will not refrain

There is no way that her hate can be contained
She will not stop until she has had her kill
To keep on moving, her hellish will, never staying still
We shall never forget her and her demonic legacy

Hm...thank you for your comments Mr.Beesley. I truly appreciate them.

I was looking through your poerms and came across this one.

....Hurricane Katrina...I've been teased quite a few times because of my name but I never thought anything of it.

That event was a true tragedy.

There is something that I find eerie.... Some of your description of the hurricane...can describe me.

Then again, I wouldn't be as ruthless as to act upon my pain.

As it said in "Truth" I have to suppress my emotions. I suppose that is why I haven't exploded yet.

This is an amazing piece of work...
Keep up the good work, sir.
