Speckled Thoughts.

by Steven Beesley   Sep 5, 2005

Speckled thoughts
A jumbled and clouded mind
Questioning all sincerity
Always disputing honesty

From the far recesses of his past
Scared to take a chance and trust once more
So many shattered dreams
Such discontent and complete abandonment

A cold heart and a life that he resents
Feeling no warmth, no tears shall he shed
Only a petrified exterior remains
Trying to cleanse past sins, he cannot ever win

Hitting rock bottom, there is no escape
Living out his meager existence in penitence
Sustained by mediocrity
Questionable resilience to time

Impartial to life itself
Looked upon as a dredge of humanity
Castaway by all of society
Now imprisoned by his lone insanity
