She Never Got to Finish her Wish.

by Miss Ashley   Sep 5, 2005

I lay here listening to the wind blow,
Through the tree, across the lake to the meadow below.
It's wicked laughter, Passes through soft golden hair,
Of a girl, who really shouldn't of have been there.

As the wind blew, she shivered and looked toward the sky,
The man that had been watching her let out a frustrated sigh.
He looked at the way the wind blew through her hair,
And mumbled to God " Yeah yeah, So what if it isn't fair?"

She was making a wish on a star that she saw,
When the man's hand grabbed her hair causing her to fall.
She tried to scream, but the cruel wind wouldn't carry her pleas.
Sadly, the only witness was a weeping Willow tree.

She fought and struggled, Tried her very best.
But in the end that poor girl's mother,
Was made to lay her daughter to rest.

Thank you all for your comments,
ive noticed some dont understand whats going on in the poem..its about a girl thats about to make a wish on a star..when a man grabs her..and no matter how hard she tried to fight him..he ended up killing her... thats what it means when it says "that poor girls mother was made to lay her daughter to rest".
    thanks again

It was good, I'll be honest and say that the rhyme scheme was a little rough, it was good, but could have been worded a little better, but over all, it was a good poem.
