Leaves

by k i k i   Sep 6, 2005

Separated from the real world,
Alone on the hill I sit.
Animals come and go,
But it's my place I want to belong to.
Writing in my books,
Watching as everything in life passes.

Leaves falling from the swarm
Of trees that once held my dreams.
Walking under the branches,
Cramping over the leaves.
Crunching and breaking,
No dreams, nothing I hold.

Like a magnet to the ground,
The leaves won't stop falling.
Fall has come before them,
Now in time to shed a tear.
Insight of the pain that is suffered,
Cold nights with no home, weak.

Wrapped away, the branches keep me,
Safe from the ever-calling demon.
Feeding me with the nurture that they bring,
Life of many sorts brightens my spirits.
Circle moving on, new coming in,
Gush of wind making me fall to sleep.
