After Angel

by Millions   Sep 6, 2005

Shining through the skies
Theres an angel smiling down
Staring into your wethered eyes
She smiles and reaches out
To gently replace your crown

Her folded wings, the warmth
around your naked body
Forgetting foolish things,
Drying your final tears
Your unknowing eyes - lifted to the heavens

"It's all over, your grace is repaid"
She murmers through
The softness she was blessed with

Cradeled in her arms
Taken to a safe place
Flown home
Her wings plain with diamonds
The weight she carries, never shown

She places you back where you belong
She reminds you of your qualities
She tells you to be strong

Finding her hand
She glimpses back
"It's over now... You're safe"
Resting your eyes once more
The final tear upon your face

She glides away
A seraph of the night
She shimmers then disappears into the star filled sky

After all these battles
And after everything you've done
You'll finally see an angel
And she'll tell you that you've won.
